Qualcomm’s Flagship Snapdragon 875 is 30% MORE Improved, But 50% MORE Expensive, Release Date, Features, and Price

Qualcomm will announce the next-generation chipset in just a matter of months. But we have already been through many leaks and rumours these past few months. The most recent reports claim that the next chipset, Snapdragon 875 will mandatorily include 5G-enabled modules. Due to this, the price of the Snapdragon 875 will increase by 50% of the current Snapdragon 865 chipsets.

Since the chipset will have a significant amount of increment in the price, the price of the flagship premium phones will also increase. The premium phones from the popular brand will most likely feature the new Snapdragon 875 chipset. The first phone to have this chipset is most likely the OnePlus 9 or 9 Pro. The OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro was the most expensive OnePlus phone ever released. With the addition of Snapdragon 875, OnePlus price will certainly hike beyond expectation.

The previous Snapdragon 865 SoC costs around $85, but the upcoming Snapdragon 875 SoC will cost around whopping $130. This means that the whole package of the processor will cost, even more, around $250. The information retrieved from the forum published in South Korea reports that the above price is the buying price of Xiaomi. This potentially suggests that the upcoming flagship Xiaomi phones price will go up.

Qualcomm will release Snapdragon 875 in December 2020!

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company has already started the mass-production of the Snapdragon 875 chipset, and Qualcomm will probably release the chipset at the end of the year.
