Since his retirement is imminent, fans have been wondering who would step into his shoes. Trebek has been brilliant since Day 1, and it would potentially be challenging to step into his shoes, but fans think one man can do the work. Is Neil DeGrasse Tyson Perfect to Replace Alex Trebek?

The fans took the discussion to the Reddit to discuss the suitable replacement for Alex Trebek. Most of the fans claimed that Neil DeGrasse could replace him as he is a similar erudite type as Alex. DeGrasse Tyson is a cosmologist and a science communicator. He has been hosting several TV shows since 2006 and the audiences love his work.

Tyson first served as the host of the Nova ScienceNow between 2006 and 2011. He historically succeeded Carl Sagan in hosting the popular science docu-series, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey. He has received positive reviews for his narration in the docu-series as well as in Cosmos: Possible Worlds that aired earlier this air in National Geographic.

The 61-year-old planetary scientist currently hosts National Geographic’s talk show, StarTalk, which airs weekly on the channel. Several fans believe Tyson is a know-it-all and obnoxious guy. But, some fans believe such personality makes him a suitable candidate and perfect person for the job. Even though Tyson is a know-it-all guy, Alex is the king of all stuff, one fan wrote.

For the moment, things are going smoothly for the game show as well as Alex. When Alex announced that he diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, fans realized that he would be leaving the show very soon. Gladly, that didn’t happen, but it doesn’t mean the producers don’t have to pursue a new host. They must do, and fast!
