Sony is gearing up for the release of the next-generation gaming console, PlayStation 5, which they are planning for launch later this year. Now, a new report claimed that the gaming console might probably release a week earlier in Japan. Sony hasn’t revealed the price and release date of the PlayStation 5. But several leakers have already reported the price and launch date of the highly anticipated gaming console.
The latest leak from a reputable leaker reported that the console might arrive in November 2020. The console’s price is reported to be around US$ 500. The leak came out of China through a tech news site MyDrivers. According to the site, a source close to Sony told that the company is planning to release the console on November 20 in the US, Canada, Europe, and China. Meanwhile, the same source reported that the company would release the console a week earlier, on November 14, in Japan.
PS5 pre-order date and pricing
The same website that reported the release date also revealed the probable pricing of the upcoming console. The price for the Blu-ray edition is set at $500, according to the website. Several other reports also reported the price for PS5 to be around $499. Digital Edition will, however, cost less than the Blu-ray Edition. The Digital Edition will cost around $399.
The controller, which has also been called DaulSense Controller, will cost $50. The next-gen controller can identify the PlayStation 5 users through the touch. Various accessories prices will potentially be cheaper than the previous PlayStation. As of now, among all other games, only one PS5 exclusive game is available for purchase – Spiderman: Miles Morales. The game will cost $40.
Since the release date is expected in mid-September, the pre-order date will commence in early-September, or in the second week of September. PlayStation’s competitor Xbox Series X also haven’t got the release date as well as the price. Fans sarcastically believe that the company are waiting for each other price to make their final decision.
