What’s Inside The New Apple Magic Keyboard? The Elegant Keyboard also Supports 2018 iPad Pros

Apple has recently introduced the new Magic Keyboard for the iPad owners to ensure the easy workflows. The new keyboard also has the integrated trackpad to control the pointer across the screen. Apple released the magic keyboard with the announcement of brand new ‌iPad Pro‌ models.

The magic keyboard isn’t only designed for the upcoming iPad. It also supports two of Apple’s 2018 iPad Pro models. The iPad owners can magnetically attach their iPad with the new magic keyboard. The attachment then follows a floating design. The design will allow the user to hold the iPad at their lap or place it in a table.

Apple Magic Keyboard also features backlit keys with the scissors mechanism and has the space of 1 mm between each key. As for the adjustment, you can adjust the keyboard up to 130 degrees viewing angle, thanks to the cantilevered hinges. The keyboard features a lightning port that will allow the users to pair the keyboard with Mac and then for charging.

One of the amazing selling points of the new magic keyboard is an elegant and integrated trackpad. The trackpad features one button, at the centre. You will be pressing the same button wherever you press across the trackpad. If you haven’t upgraded your iPadOS to the latest iPadOS‌ 13.4, then you probably can’t enjoy trackpad feature. The new OS was released along with the magic keyboard that supports trackpad support in all iPad Pros, including the 2018’s.

So, what’s inside the Magic Keyboard?

The keyboard features a replaceable and rechargeable lithium-ion battery on the first layer of the keyboard along with the logic board. The battery isn’t simply replaceable as it is concealed inside. But since the battery doesn’t have solder, it can be easily disconnected with the board. The battery is somehow similar to that of iPhone but the dimension varies.

You can call the keyboard as environment friendly since because the battery is rechargeable and it prevents disposable waste. The notable hardware inside of a logic board includes NXP 1608A1 Charging IC, ST Microelectronics STM32F103VB 72 MHz 32-bit RISC ARM Cortex-M3, and Bluetooth 3.0 Single-Chip. The lightning port is at the bottom.

There is a maximum chance of destroying the internal component of the keyboard if you aren’t expertise in tearing down electrical components. iFixit reported that the repairability score of the keyboard is just 3, in which 10 is the easiest. Apple has used excessive adhesive in assembling the internal components.

You can buy the new magic keyboard for both 11-inch ‌‌iPad Pro‌‌ and the 12.9-inch ‌‌iPad Pro. The former keyboard costs $299.00 while the later costs around $349.00.
