The Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos, is engaged to the Emmy-winning journalist, Lauren Sanchez, according to the reports. Wedding bells will ring for Bezos, 59, and Sanchez 53 who made their relationship public in January 2019.
The couple was on vacation together in the South of France when this enduring news came out. Over the weekend, the duo was photographed enjoying an intimate outing as they attended the Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of Apple Original Films’ ”Killers of the Flower Moon”.
Bezos and Lauren made headlines recently when they were seen together on the billionaire’s yacht named Koru. The beautiful ‘to-be bride’ was seen rocking a ring, probably an engagement ring, when they were photographed enjoying the sun on a $500 million superyacht along the coast of Spain.
The luxury 417-foot-long yacht features a wooden sculpture made in the likeness of Bezos’s long-time girlfriend, Lauren Sanchez. A design that is attached to the ship’s prow, includes a necklace featuring the symbol for Koru, which is a Maori for loop or coil. It is based on the spiral shape of an unfurling silver fern frond, a symbol that is special to the love partners.
Bezos has hinted at new beginnings before on his Instagram– and a new phase of life, positive change, and personal growth. The Amazon founder took the relationship public after he announced his divorce from MacKenzie Scott in January 2019 after 25 years of marriage. He shares four children with his ex-wife.
On the other hand, Lauren also divorced her husband, Patrick Whitesell after 13 years of their marriage. The pilot has two children with the agent, Patrick, and a son from a previous relationship with former NFL star Tony Gonzalez.
Since the couple is together, they have continued to grow together, gone on vacations, worked together as philanthropists, and advocated for climate change. Since Jeff Bezos stepped down as the CEO of Amazon in February 2021, he has continuously made his efforts in the conservation and space exploration company, Blue Origin. Lauren has also been contributing and has been with her boyfriend each step of the way.
The pair regularly post about each other on social media. Sanchez made the first appearance on Bezos’ Instagram page in February 2020 when the couple visited Emmanuel Macron to discuss climate change. They work together on the Bezos Earch Fund where Bezos is the executive chairperson and Sanchez is Vice-chairperson.

Since then, the two often upload their sweet pictures together on small celebrations and work. In January, Lauren wrote a heartfelt birthday message to Bezos, calling him ”the man of her dreams”.
She penned, ”You have shown me that no great love not bravely fought for. Thank you for always being my side and for being the most loving and supportive partner, I am so grateful for the memories we have made and the adventures yet to come. Here’s to many more birthdays filled with love and laughter.” The post ended with a Spanish message that she loved her man with all her heart.
Also, Lauren shared more pictures from their travel memories for Valentine’s Day. She mentioned, ”My heart is full.” Bezos also shared her pictures with his mother on Mother’s Day. He wrote, ”Happy Mother’s Day to my beautiful, incredible mom, and to all the amazing moms in my life.”
Bezos went on to describe the Emmy award-winning journalist as ”the most generous, most big-hearted person that you would ever meet,” and said that she is ”an inspiration.”
