Which couples might need to work a little hard next week?

After finishing last on the podium the previous week, Tony Adams and his partner Katya Jones stunned the audience with a Western-inspired Quickstep. Further, the performance was by far their most outstanding, scoring 31. The judges swooped in for a second round of judging with a Cha Cha to Tanz Orchester Klaus Hallen’s Day-O.

James Bye and Amy Dowden danced a Charleston with a bee theme, were at the other extreme. The performers performed a comical act with lifts and lots of laughs, but the judges were unimpressed.

One of the judge’s points was it was entertaining. But the couple were looser, but next, you need more musicality. The other judges had varying opinions. The Anton remarks were that the lifts were incredibly powerful, although you briefly knocked Amy to the ground.

“You should dance more in between your lifts,” but it was still lovely, said Craig. The total score was 27 for them. As they took the stage first, Tony and Katya got their highest scores since the competition’s beginning six weeks ago. His performance impressed the judges. Then Shirley commented, “Who would have believed you would deliver that kind of performance?” The footwork was beautiful.

So the judges gave a total of 31 to the couple. The next performance was a Cha Cha Cha by Will Mellor and Nancy Xu. The judges praised his dance with Anton. Also, the judges said it was much better than last week.

Hence they received all eights from the four judges, giving them 32.

Kym Marsh and her partner Graziano Di Prima were the next to dance. Further, they chose to attempt the challenging Rumba.
