At TIFF, Olivia Colman commended King Charles III’s speech. King Charles addressed the nation following the death of Queen Elizabeth.
The 48-year-old actress came to the Variety Studio to promote her new film Empire of Light. She gushed to the magazine about how “beautifully” the King delivered his remarks.
“He did it so gracefully,” she said. During her time at TIFF, Olivia Colman complimented King Charles III’s message to the nation following The Queen’s death.

She made a vow as a young woman and kept it with dignity,’ Olivia recalled of her Majesty. The actress even added that what she accomplished had left a lasting impression on all of us.
She continued by saying that she thought King Charles III had done an excellent job. He delivered his recent televised speech from a British perspective. All along, she asked him to do it out of love, and kindness, and that’s precisely what he did.
She elaborated, “From the outside world looking at Great Britain, at the moment, we’ve got some comedy going on at the one side – politics — and something so respectable.” Olivia added that Being a Brit made her proud. Moreover, She believes in his abilities and thinks he’ll succeed in his new position.

A spokesman at Buckingham Palace acknowledged the monarchy’s end, saying, “The Queen died peacefully in Balmoral this afternoon.” The King and Queen Consort will stay at Balmoral tonight before flying back to London.
