We Android enthusiasts know that the main excitement of this year is yet to come. While the rest of the internet awaits the introduction of the iPhone tomorrow. However, Google’s autumn hardware slate was announced at I/O in May. We eagerly await official news about the Pixel 7 and the Pixel Watch. The good news is that we won’t have to hold our breath for much longer. Most importantly, the next Made By Google event won’t happen for another month.
When did the company make an official announcement?
The company confirmed the official release date for the Pixel 7 series and the Pixel Watch on Twitter. This will be the company’s first wearable gadget will be October 6. The event will begin at 10 AM ET. You may add the Livestream to your calendar or sign up for Google updates by going to the hub website.
The release date of October 13 coincides with previous rumours that pre-orders too. The Pixel 7 and 7 Pro sale will begin immediately following the event. Although a specific release date for the Pixel Watch has not been revealed. However, current rumours indicate that it will debut simultaneously with the Pixel smartphones.
What will all be unveiled?
The invitation itself doesn’t provide any insight. After announcing the Pixel 7 series and a new wristwatch, Google has included concept art for both in a tweet. Oddly enough, the Pixel Buds Pro are also featured, despite being available for purchase for over a month.
Meanwhile, we aren’t anticipating much else from Google. Albeit the long-rumoured affordable Chromecast or the Pixel tablet from next year are all possibilities. However, we don’t have high hopes for the Pixel foldable. As its release date still seems far off.
Is this a close fight with Apple?
This evening marks one month from Apple’s expected debut of the iPhone 14. Additionally, Google has just announced the introduction of the Pixel 7. Like last year, Google debuted the Pixel 6 family of smartphones in October. this all happened around a month after Apple introduced the iPhone 13.
The Pixel 7 series from Google has been the subject of speculation. For the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, we have seen renders, prototype units, and even leaked unboxing videos. However, information on the phone’s internals remains scarce. Recently, an unboxing video of the Pixel 7 Pro appeared online. We can’t confirm its legitimacy.
Although October 6 seems close, there is still time for any leaks to surface. Does it even qualify as a Google product if we don’t get all the details weeks in advance?
