A recent lawsuit claimed that Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears persuaded young siblings Jane Doe, and John Doe to film sexually inappropriate skits when they were in their care. Tiffany’s attorney, Andrew Brettler, has indicated that the case is an effort at extortion. The plaintiff’s mother, Trizah Morris, has spent years trying to prove these allegations against Haddish.
Why was the complaint lodged against them?
According to the complaint against Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears, the siblings’ family traditionally celebrated Christmas at their residence. Haddish reportedly offered Jane a part in her commercial after she and William Stewart broke up in 2013.
There was a shooting, but Jane and her family didn’t know about it. However, Haddish and Spears were well informed. Also, for a sketch involving kids fighting over a sub sandwich, Haddish reportedly had to teach Jane to imitate something inappropriate.
What was the statement made by Jane?
Jane, while being interviewed by The Daily Beast, made the following statement:
To paraphrase: “I tried to mimic what they wanted me to mimic, but it came out just super uncomfortable. I realized I hadn’t done what they’d asked when I stepped out of the booth. Jane reported receiving $100 for her participation and stating that she did not inform her mother of any of the shoot’s events. Haddish went over to the brothers’ mother and said she wanted to employ her son John for a sizzle reel for Nickelodeon.
The lawsuit claims that Haddish and Spears molested John while shooting. In sum, the video of the incident was published by Funny Or Die and other websites.
When asked about the video, a spokesperson from Funny Or Die responded that the company would never distribute stuff like that and had nothing to do with the production of the clip. It was user-generated content, the spokesman said, and it was taken down in 2018.
Jane and John said their mother had previously sought to deal with Aries for $15,000 over the video. However, they are now suing them for damages.
