Tom Holland In Uncharted 2022 After SpiderMan: Everything You Want to Know

Uncharted 2022: The Naughty Dog studio is famous for its amazing linear story games. Some of the best-looking games that they have produced obviously include the Uncharted series and The Last of Us series. However, it seems as if the studio is not only going to limit itself to the gaming industry and are heading towards cinema.

Not only is The last of Us getting a TV adaptation but even the Uncharted Series is going to hit the big screens as a movie starring none other than the charismatic Tom Holland. In this article, we will discuss Tom’s role and everything there is to know about the movie.

Tom Holland In Uncharted 2022

Since Uncharted 2022 was shot before Tom returned to his globally famous Spiderman role, he had to lose a lot of weight. As all gamers know, Nate, the character from the Uncharted series is a lot wider and possesses a heavy frame compared to the lean and nimble Peter Parker. So, Tom lost around 8 kilograms for the role. This in itself is a testament to the dedication the actor has for his role. In his own words:-

“Yeah, as soon as I got to Atlanta, we started a pretty intense cut. On Uncharted, I was probably 74 kilograms [163 pounds] and then I cut down to 66 [145 pounds] or 67 kilograms [147 pounds] for Spider-Man. I need to be so agile when playing that character and carrying that weight would’ve been really, really difficult. So yeah, the cut was pretty severe.” (Source: We Got This Covered

Holland also shared with The Hollywood Reporter that the hardest thing in Uncharted 2022 was to play the “cool guy”. He says, “Historically, I’ve always sort of played the outsider who doesn’t particularly have many friends and isn’t the cool kid. So Nathan Drake is the complete opposite, and that was something that took me a while to get used to and feel comfortable doing.”

Sony’s Production of Uncharted 2022 and Spiderman

Since both these franchises belong to media giant Sony, Holland didn’t have the lugubrious task of playing two roles produced by two different studios. Since the pandemic has affected film production around the world and dates have been pushed back; Holland says he was comfortable and “lucky”.

He didn’t have to divide his time and juggle between two schedules because both the movies were made by the “same people”. He said he also has an “incredible relationship” with Tom Rothman, who is the Sony film boss.

Uncharted, starring Tom Holland and Mark Whalberg is hitting the cinemas on 18 February 2022. In order to witness Holland’s portrayal of the iconic character, do check it out.
