Washington: The United States on Wednesday rejected Russia’s key demand to bar Ukraine from NATO. It also stated that it believed Moscow was already ready to invade but offered what it called a new “diplomatic path” out of the crisis.

Blinken’s Response
“It sets out a serious diplomatic path forward should Russia choose it.” he said it to the reporters of the US response, which he said would remain confidential. He also offered on “reciprocal” measures to address mutual security concerns including reductions of missile in Europe. It also included transparency on military drills and western aid to Ukraine.
He also made it clear that the United States would not budge on Russia’s core demand that Ukraine never be allowed to join NATO, the US military alliance. Blinken also stated that “From our perspective i can’t be more clear. NATO’s door is open, remain’s open and that is oue commitment.”
What is NATO
THE NORTH ATLANTIC TREATY ORGANIZATION, also known as the north Atlantic Alliance. It is an alliance of countries from Europe and North America. Its purpose is to guarantee the freedom and security of its members through political and military means. It provides an unique link between those two continents sanctioning them to seek advice and cooperate in the feild of defence and security and conduct multinational crisis-management operations together.
What does Russia want from NATO
Russia has spoken the “moment of the truth” in modifying its relationship with NATO:
“For us its absolutely mandatory to ensure Ukraine never, ever become a member of NATO.” This was stated by Deputy foreign minister Sergei Ryabkov.
