One of the most anticipated Marvel movies, which was going to be released this year but has been shifted to 2022 is The Eternals. Under the direction of Chloe Zhao, who just won an Oscar for best direction for Nomadland. This movie is also one of the most anticipated movies for Marvel and the cinematic Universe. But before the movie come out, we want you guys to know about these characters a little bit, so you don’t get confused or anything when you go to watch this movie.
In the year 1970s, Jack Kirby wrote this magnificent world of art. The vision was that the celestials, beings beyond the comprehension of human minds, who also created humans have also created a group of beings who are immortals and have been living on Earth for thousands of years. They are basically immortals. We call them Eternals. The main villains of the Eternals are the Deviants, who will also appear in the movie too alongside the Eternals, because what’s a movie without antagonists. Let’s meet some Eternals that are going to appear in the movie.
KINGO:
Kingo has appeared in the comics but not too many times. What are his powers or full capabilities are still unknown to us. But the one thing he knows is his swords. He is mater in sword fighting. Kumail Nanjiani is playing the role of this character. Although, the people are confused on why was taken as the character’s race in the comics is not Indian. In the comics, he is Japanese.
IKARIS:
Played by Richard Madden for the big screen. Ikaris holds the power of, well everything. He does not have a specific power, like all the other Eternals. He is one of the strongest Eternals on this planet. Well, second-most, if we are being specific.
GILGAMESH:
Gilgamesh is stronger than Ikaris in many ways and he is based on Earth. For the big screen, he is being portrayed by Don Lee. You guys know him from the epic, Train to Busan. Do, you know the strength of Thor. Of course, you know the strength of Thor, Gilgamesh is as powerful as the God Of Thunder.
PHASTOS:
One of the most powerful Eternal, and I know I am using this a lot. But they are all are just too powerful. Brian Tyree Henry is playing this character on screen. One of the features of Phastos is he can forge great weapons. He is also into technology that can combine with the weapons he makes among different things.
THENA:
She is one of the warriors in the Eternals. played by Angelina Jolie, it will be amazing to see her on-screen after a long time. She’s good at sword fighting and bow and arrow as I already told you, she’s among the warriors. She has trained for hundreds of years to become perfect.
AJAK:
Marvel have to change the gender of this Eternal for the g screen. In the comics, Ajak is a man. In the MCU, Ajak will be played, Salma Hayek. She is the leader of the Eternals, as she is the only one who can talk to the Celestials.
