The series shows a journey of an innocent boy who went through a lot very early in his life. Tanjiro Kamado’s fathers’ death left him in utter shock and it wasn’t long after his father’s death, that the burden of all the members of his beautiful family went on his little shoulders.

He became the sole provider of his house, and by selling charcoal in the nearby village every day, he commuted constantly from mountain to plain area.

One unfortunate day, he got very late for getting home, and the people in the village suggested that it wouldn’t be safe to return this late. He decided to stay the night having no idea the horrible experience that awaits him.

When he went home, he found his family killed by demons and his sister surviving barely. He noticed her turning into a demon, and the journey follows his struggle in turning her sister into a human and killing the demons.
