In the first series of Law and Order, Mariska Hargitay along with Captain Olivia Benson was stared. She was the commanding officer of the Special Victims Unit in a fictionalized version of the New York City Police Department. Meloni was the main star in the SUV series she played the role of a Det.
The series is based on the New York City Police Department’s 16th precinct in Manhattan. The series focuses on the dark side of the New York underworld. The elite of the Special Victims Unit is responsible for investigating sex-oriented crimes which included rape, Pedophilia, and domestic violence. Child abuse and crimes against elders are also the part of Victims Special Unit’s crimes investigation.
