Mithali Raj is the flag bearer of Women’s cricket for India. The captain of the team held many records and awards and always led the team to success. She became the first-ever female cricketer and second overall after Sachin Tendulkar to complete 22 years in ODI cricket. Raj, born on December 3, 1982, currently 38 years old, has no intention to stop anytime soon. She continued to strive forward for her dream to pick the World Cup for India once before being called off.
Her career
In two decades of her career, she became the glory of Indian women’s cricket. She made her debut in July 1999 at the tender age of 16. Against Ireland in her debut, she had scored unbeaten 114 and paved the path for a bright future. She was the youngest woman to score a double century in the women’s Test at 19 years of age. In her career, she has played 214 ODIs, 89 T20s, and 11 Tests and played the most ODIs in women’s cricket. She is also the highest scorer in women’s ODIs with more than 7000 runs.
