Invincible Season 2: Release Date Announcement & More Updates

Invincible is one of the many shows adapted from famous comic books. Invincible is an animated show, one of the amazon prime originals that premiered in March 2021. Based on the comics of the same name, it is an adult superhero series.

The comics started publishing in January 2003 and released monthly issues which were completed with 144 issues in February 2018. Some of the characters are loosely inspired by the existing Marvel & DC characters. The show has a famous cast of voice actors that include Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, J K Simmons, Seth Rogen, Mark Hamill, and other great actors. Many of the actors being from the cast of The Walking Dead. And now fans are waiting for Invincible Season 2.

Invincible Season 2: Announcement & More

Prime has been creating a lot of good comic book content recently, Invincible being a second after the popular The Boys TV show. Invincible has currently only one season and 8 episodes so far. The series was announced to be renewed for not only a second season but as well as a third on Twitter by the official page in the month following the release. If you haven’t seen season one, some major spoilers ahead.

Invincible Season 1:

The show follows Mark, a 17-year-old teenager, who is the son of the world’s strongest superhero, Omni Man. When he starts to get his powers, he finally begins to learn the truth about his father. As the title of the show suggests, it also shows his transformation into being a powerful hero.

Invincible Season 2 : Release Date Announcement & More Updates

Invincible ended with a battle between Omni Man and Invincible which led to a lot of chaos and destruction and also revealed the truth about Omni Man to the World. Omni Man however does not kill Mark but beats him close to death and leaves the planet. Mark recovers and is shown to be planning to finish high school, while he encounters an alien who warns him how Viltrumite never gives up their plans and would come soon for Earth.

Season 2 Release Date & Other Updates:

The show was renewed for seasons 2 and 3 on 29th April. Therefore there are not many updates yet. The release has not been announced or hinted at either. As there would be much creative work, production, and script to decide, the production would not have started this early. Hopefully, keeping all things in mind the release date might be next year around the second half of the end of the year.

The cast for the new season would most likely be the same, mainly talking about the main cast. Many recurring characters and villains actor could return as well. With every actor reprising their roles. New characters or actors have not been added or announced so far, making it difficult to assume any new additions or rumors.

Invincible Season 2 Plot:

As there are 144 total issues, it is difficult to speculate which story from the comics would the show follow. Season one gives some hint, Omni Man leaves Earth without revealing his destination, did he went to his home planet or conquer another planet? As the alien reveals to Mark, Viltrumite invasion seems a likely possibility for the season 2 plot. Mark would try to be ready for the upcoming attack and defend the planet against them. Season 2 will mostly continue where season 1 ended.

Many other subplots from season one also were left without a proper ending, season two would also follow them. For Example, the Mauler Twins are back in the prison, the Doc Seismic would probably cause more trouble, another infiltrator is the second astronaut who slipped in by using the appearance of the astronaut.

The comics also have more storyline regarding the character and he tries to be a superhero with the title Shapesmith. Titan and the beast would also return as their motives hint more trouble coming. All of this would form some of the storylines for the next season. Robert one of the creators of the comics said the production team has a rough map about the comics and the show. There would also be more seasons coming.

As it only has been almost one and half months since the season announcement, the information about production and storyline is less. More will be updated soon when more is announced.
