American superhero television series ‘The Gifted’ is created by Matt Nix for Fox. The series is based on the Marvel comics X- Men properties. It is set in a timeline where we see the disappearance of X – Men. 20th Century Fox television is producing the series in collaboration with Marvel Television. Nix is playing the role of showrunner for the series. And now fans are waiting for The Gifted Season 3.
What Is ‘The Gifted’?
The series stars Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker in the role of ordinary parents of the kids who are taken on a run after discovering the mutant ability of the kids.
Another cast of the series included Sean Teale as Marcos Diaz, Natalie Alyn Lind as Lauren Strucker, Percy Hynes White as Andy Strucker, Coby Bell as Jace Turner, Jamie Chung as Clarice Fong/ Blink, Blair Redford as John Proudstar also known as Thunderbird, and Emma Dumont as Lorna Dane or the Polaris. Skyler Samuel as the Frost sisters and grace Byers as Grace Byers. joined the series during the second season.
The first episode of ‘The Gifted’ was released and aired on October 2, 2017. The first season included 13 episodes, which ended on January 15, 2018. due to the positive review from all the critics and the huge fan following and viewership the series was renewed for a second season of 16 episodes which was aired on September 25, 2018. The second season of 16 episodes ended on April 17, 2019. The series was cancelled by Fox due to some unknown reasons.
Why Fox Cancelled The Gifted Season 3?
Though the series was cancelled after two successful seasons fans are still expecting the third season of ‘The Gifted’. According to some of the sources, the series did not get as many views as it was expected. For the first season, there were 3 million views but the views came down to 1.6 million views.

The fan following to dropped. Maybe this was the reason why Fox cancelled the series for the third season. The live airing of the shows was one reason behind the low viewership according to the sources.
Nix has confirmed that they have plans for The Gifted Season 3 provided some network other than Fox pick the show for airing. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the show but it seems their waiting has no end as there is no confirmation about the renewal of season three as of now. It seems fans will have to wait a little longer until some other network picks up the series for airing.
There has been no news about the production process too after the end of the second season. So we say that The Gifted’ season 3 is in no way coming back this year.
