Batwoman Season 2 Episode 17: Spoiler
Kane, Kate” is the title of the episode. Here’s what you can expect to see in the next episode of Batwoman.
The storey of Batwoman’s hardships will be featured in the following episode, as Black Mask continues to increase the stakes with Circe as his henchwoman. Once again, Alice and Safiyah cross paths.
Recap of season 2 episode 16
In all honesty, Luke’s acting comes across as a little petulant, and his extremely serious underground poker playing is a little stupid, and his showdown with Tavaroff feels like a rip-off of the Bond/Le Chiffre dynamic from Casino Royale.
The entrance of John Diggle (David Ramsey), who is there to bail Luke out after he gets into a physical confrontation with Tavaroff after clearing him out at the poker table, provides a nice counterbalance to his moping.
As corny as part of it is, it does follow a natural development along with Luke’s storey and helps Batwoman season 2, episode 16 fit in with the other CW shows in the ArrowVerse.
But it’s also sharing space with the newest exploits of Circe Sionis, a.k.a. Kate Kane, whom Safiyah is on the lookout for.
The quality of Circe’s facial reconstruction alerts Safiyah to Alice’s involvement, and Roman Sionis is alerted to the fact that Alice is actually Beth Kane – unwittingly, he had delivered Kate Kane to the person best positioned to jog her memories about who she is, which Alice is able to do (sort of) with the help of Jacob. Some of it is enjoyable.
But there are a couple of too many moments in Batwoman season 2, episode 16, and they would have been better served if they had been given more room to breathe.
It’s a major deal for the Kane family to reconcile. It’s a majIt’s a major deal for Luke to continue his transformation into Batwing. The vengeance of Safiyah is significant etc.
With only a few episodes remaining in the season, it’s easy to assume that none of the separate subplots will be resolved.
However, this is a CW programme, and they go on forever, so I’m sure we’ll see all of this development come to fruition at some point.
