US Experts warn to find Covid-19 origins or the world will face “Covid-26 and Covid-32”

Two leading US disease experts on Sunday explained that the world can’t be saved from pandemic threats if the origin of the Coronavirus is not found. At this point, it has become mandatory that the Chinese government cooperates to trace the origin of the virus. If it is not traced as soon as possible then the world might witness new variants of the virus which may engulf the world.

Being unaware of the origins risks the future.

As said by Scott Gottlieb, commissioner of Food and Drug Administration, the information which supported the theory of SARS-CoV-2 virus might have escaped from a lab in Wuhan, China has gained more credibility. China hasn’t provided enough evidence to prove the theory wrong and there are no signs of the virus emerging from wildlife.

Having zero knowledge about the origins of the virus puts the world at a risk for future outbreaks stated Peter Hotez, co-director of the Texas Children’s Hospital Center for vaccine development. Hotez said, “There’s going to be Covid-26 and Covid-32 unless we fully understand the origins of Covid-19.”

Implications regarding the origins of the virus, whether it escaped from the Wuhan lab, or from wild to human recently, gained more attention because of the Biden administration probe. To find the origins of the virus the scientists should conduct a long-term investigation in China and pressure needs to be created on China with sanction threats to allow an inquiry. He added, “We need a team of scientists, epidemiologists, virologists, and bat ecologists in Hubei province for a six-month, year-long period.

The Wuhan lab theory is unacceptable by Chinese officials they disputed the theory. On Thursday Zhao Lijian Foreign Ministry spokesperson of China dismissed President Biden’s inquiry regarding the theory. It was said that the inquiry is an attempt to stigmatize, political manipulation, and blame-shifting related to the Biden administration.

Even the World Health Organization calls for an investigation into the matter for further knowledge as the report it released in March couldn’t fully uncover the theory.
