Joe Biden ‘MOCKED’ UK’s PM, Boris Johnson for Marrying Above HIS LEAGUE

The President of the United States and the Prime Minister of the UK finally had their first in-person meeting on Thursday. The two leaders held a bilateral meeting on Thursday and renewed the Atlantic Charter. On Thursday, President Joe Biden landed in Cornwall and met the PM ahead of the G-7 summit. PM Johnson told Biden that everyone in the UK is thrilled to welcome and see the recently elected president of the US.

While the duo had a meeting to sign the revitalized Atlantic Charter, outlining modern threats, they also shared some jokes during the first in-person visit. The 46th President of the United States mocked his UK counterpart for marrying someone outside his league. Biden mentioned that he and the UK’s PM have something in common, as they both married way above their station.

Prime Minister Johnson married the daughter of co-founder of The Independent newspaper, Carrie Symonds on 29 May 2021 at a secret wedding. He is the first prime minister after Lord Liverpool to marry while serving the office. Johnson responded to Biden’s joke by mentioning that he will not disagree to Biden’s statement. He also added that he was not going to dissent on anything else.
