“May the Force be with you” is the popular saying that all Star Wars fans are well acquitted with but what is this “may the 4th be with you”?.

Originally started as a pun to the catchphrase, this day is now officially celebrated as the Star Wars Day. This intergalactic movie franchise day is celebrated by all its fans around the world.

Origin

The star wars franchise is one of the most-watched movie franchises of all time. The movies individually have grossed the maximum money at the box office during their release.

The first recorded reference of this phrase being used was on May 4, 1979 when Margaret Thatcher was congratulated using this phrase. And since then it has been used by everyone from the common man till the prime minister. Various references

Official status 

The Walt Disney Company has officially observed the holiday since 2013 after it had purchased Lucasfilm in 2012. Disney releases new movies and TV shows related to star wars every year on 4th may.  A new animated series called Star Wars: The Bad Batch will also premiere on Disney+ this year on this day.

The best Tv show to be released on this day would definitely be The Mandalorian. We loved every moment that had baby yoda in it.
