We all know the tragedy of Johnny Depp. He is one of if not the greatest actors of all time in Hollywood. He has acted in many movies and has worked with great directors of Hollwyood in his career spanning more than 35 years. He first appeared in The Nightmare on Elm Street, a movie released in 1984. The movie has him his entry into the biggest entertainment industry in World. His movies have earned more than a billion dollars on Box-office for the studio. And some of them worked because he was a part of the movie. He is also one of the richest actors in Hollywood with a net worth of 150 million dollars.
But he has and is in the middle of his life’s biggest tragedy. One of the things an actor is known for is his movies. If you want to destroy an actor, destroy his movies. So that the next generation will never know who he was. This is the biggest effect of cancel culture in our generation.
People want to cancel everything just because it offends them to see it. They did not want anyone to see it. They just want to live their life in the bubble they create for themselves. Johnny Depp has been fired from his recent roles. Let’s talk about this in a little detail.
THE CASE OF JOHNNY DEPP:
We all know the official case of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. They are fighting each other legally in court. Amber Heard filed a case against Johnny Depp, accusing him of domestic violence. Johnny Depp fight back and filed a defamation case again her. He has also a defamation case against a magazine named Sun tabloid. They published an article named, “wife-beater.”.
Which was not true and without any investigation. They did not even wait for the court to rule out the verdict. But lost the case with the magazine and that let him lose 50 million dollars. This also affected his mental health as he talked about this in an interview.
REMOVING MOVIES:
After he was fired from both Pirates of the Caribbean as well as Fantastic Beast. Both Franchises are profitable and Pirates of the Caribbean work because of Johnny Depp. Without Johnny Depp, the franchise could have gone to the basement and the studio could have lost the money.
Netflix is doing the same thing. They are removing the movies in which Johnny Depp starred in. The reason is quite obvious. Let’s see what’s in the basket for Johnny Depp in the future. But ot’s happening only in the US. they are removing the movies from Netflix US. And not from other countries.
