Who is Jemele Hill: Everything You Need To Know About The Ex- ESPN

Born on December 21, 1975, Jemele Juanita Hill is a popular American sports Journalist. She worked for ESPN for almost 12 years. She began her career as a sports journalist for Raleigh News and Observer. She also worked for the Detroit Free Press and covered Michigan State football and basketball. She also wrote on the 2004’s Summer Olympics along with NBA Playoffs.

She also worked with the Orlando Sentinel from 2005 till 2006 and later joined ESPN in November 2006. She was the national Columnist for ESPN’S. She made several appearances on Television including the Sports Center. She has hosted many ESPN’S programs which include ESPN First Take, Outside The Lines, and The Sports Reporters.  She was also seen in the 2008 NBA playoffs.

But soon she was suspended from her position because of her article she wrote article about Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons mentioning Adolf Hitler. Hill soon replied to her suspension saying –

” Rooting for the Celtics is like saying Hitler was a victim.”

Later the matter was associated with racisms and faced a lot of negative responses and criticism for how Hill was treated by the channel. The matter was taken back to 2008 when ESPN’S former employee to mentioned about Hitler and no action was taken against him. In 2011 Hill hosted the ‘ His And Her’ along with Michael Smith. The duo then became very popular and most liked.

Later n 2017 both and Smith were seen together for hosting SportCenter. Again in 2017 she was again criticized for due to her Tweet’s that criticized the US president Donald Trump. She described him a ‘White supremacist’. This matter was so huge that everyone criticized Hill for her actions. President Trump too demanded for an apology after Hill’s Tweet.

White house too demanded for Hill’s suspension which that never happened. Soon after this Hill again commented on Jerry Jones and Dallas Cowboys. After this violation of social media guidelines, Hill was suspended for two weeks. Later she hosted the final season of  SportCenter6 in February and joined the Undefeated. ESPN’S website which covers sports and race.

In 2018 Hill left ESPN and joined the Atlantic on October 1, 2018. She is currently a staff member of the Atlantic. She is also doing a podcast titled ‘Jemele Hill Is Unbothered’ on Spotify. She talks about sport, culture and race gender and politics in the podcast. Lat year she hosted a show named Cari and Jemele Stick to Sport.  on Vice On TV along with her friend Cari Champion.
