What is the E3?
It was a major bummer for all the gaming fans around the world as Electronic Entertainment Expo aka E3 was canceled last year due to the pandemic. The organizers have confirmed that E3 2021: Game On will an all-digital event from June 12-June 15. It will be free of cost to all the attendees. This comes as good news to all the gaming fans from all around the world.
E3 2021 will be part of IGN’s summer of gaming this year. Developers use this as a platform to showcase their upcoming games and news to the fans and consumers directly.
Participating Developers
The major companies which have confirmed their participation in E3 2021 are – Xbox, Nintendo, Ubisoft, Warner bros studios, Koch media, Capcom, Konami, Take-Two interactive. More developers will likely announce their participation as the dates get closer. The PlayStation company Sony won’t be attending the event this year too. It had backed out in 2019 too as it had shifted its focus mainly to its own events like PSX.
Newly Added Developers
As the program gets closer some more developers have joined the show. The newly added developers include Activision, Sega, and Bandai Namco.
Activision
This company is one of the leading game developers in the world. They are the developers of the well-known mobile and pc game ‘Call of Duty.
Sega
A Japanese game development company which is well known around the world for its consoles and the famous game sonic the hedgehog.
Bandai Namco
Also a Japanese game development company, well known for its games like Pac man and Tekken series.
Upcoming games in E3 updates
Fans are eagerly waiting for the announcements about their favourite games and some of the most awaited ones are-
From Nintendo:
- Breath of the wild;
- Metroid games;
- Mario
- Splatoon 3 updates
From Xbox:
- Halo infinite
- Bethesda, obsidian, double fine, compulsion and other first-party exclusive games
Other major games to look out for this year:
- Death loop from arcane studios
- Dying light 2 from techland
- Star field from Bethesda
- Lego star wars saga from TT games
- Ghost wire: Tokyo from tango games
- Battlefield 6 from EA( won’t be at E3 as EA isn’t participating this time, but it’s a game to look out for)
