Caitlyn Jenner Could be the NEXT Donald Trump, Some Republicans Claim

The popular reality TV star and former decathlete, Caitlyn Jenner has announced her bid for governor of California. Jenner is hoping to replace Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom in the upcoming recall election with her fame and popularity. The transgender rights activist announced her campaign through her official Twitter account on Friday. Now, people are claiming that she — a longtime Republican — could be the next Donald Trump.

In her official statement while announcing that she is running for the governor, she mentioned that the state needs a new and honest leader. She slammed that the state has been running by a party that has placed politics over the interest of people and actual progress of the state. The Olympic gold medal-winning athlete also slammed Gavin Newsom’s way of doing things in the state.

Jenner in her statement criticized Newsom’s over restrictive lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic. She mentioned that he forced the citizens to stay inside the house but went partying with his friends. Also, she mentioned that the taxes in the state of California are way too high in comparison with other states. Axios reported that Jenner reportedly has greater name ID than Newsom.

Some Republicans think that Jenner might be the next Trump

If Jenner gets through the election, then some Republicans fear that she might be the next Donald Trump. Jenner is a longtime Republican, but she has never branded herself as the Trump Republican. However, she has assembled a team of GOP strategists to run her election campaign. Among the prominent GOP operatives is Tony Fabrizio, who previously served as the top pollster during Donald Trump’s 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns.

Brad Parscale, Trump’s former campaign manager reportedly helped Jenner to put a team of the GOP operatives. However, he doesn’t plan to work officially during the campaign. Jenner has also successfully hired Steven Cheung, who was a member during Arnold Schwarzenegger’s successful recall campaign back in 2003. Tyler Deaton, the president of Allegiance Strategies and Ryan Erwin of Red Rock Strategies are also in the team.

Her decision to run for the governor has garnered backlash from the public. The report shows that even her family members and celebrity friends are unhappy with her bid for governor.
