Joe Biden Admits to Armenian Genocide by Turkey’s Hands, Analyst Fear New Divide Over This Issue

President Biden on Saturday formally recognized the mass killing of Armenians by Ottoman Turkish forces as an act of genocide as he mourns for the victims on Armenian Remembrance Day. Since the day of the mass killing, the victims family has been demanding to recognize the day as an act of genocide. This recognition by President Joe Biden is likely to spoil the relation between America and Turkey.

Why it matters: Mass Killing of Armenians And What Joe Biden Has To Say About The Same.

In April 2020 this was one of the Vows taken by Joe Biden if he came to powers that he would recognize the mass killing as an act of genocide. The political parties have not recognized the incident just because it would spoil the relation between America and Turkey. Which is also a member of NATO and has been a crucial member that manages the relation between Russia and Middle Eastern countries.

The mass killing had taken place when the Armenians were getting transported by the Ottoman Turks from eastern Anatolia to the Syrian desert during world war II. Around 1.5 million people were killed during this time. The act was recognized earlier recognized by Turkey too but it refused to recognize the same as the act of genocide.

In 2019 too the act was passed which stated to recognize the act as an act of genocide but President Donald trump too refused to call it an act of genocide.

Joe Biden gave a statement on Saturday which says “We honor the victims of the Meds Yeghern so that the horror of what happened is never lost o history, and we remember so that we remain ever vigilant against the corrosive influence of hate in all its forms. of those who survived, most were forced to find new homes and new lives around the world, including in the united states. With strength and resilience, the Armenian people survived and rebuilt their community. Today, as we mourn what was lost, let us also turn our eyes to the future – towards the world that we wish to build for our children. A world is unstained by the daily evils of bigotry and intolerance, where human rights are respected, and where all people are able to pursue their lives in dignity and security. ”
