The launch is scheduled on April 22, with liftoff at 3:41 p.m. IST (1011 GMT). NASA’s iconic Pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida is expected to be the place where the Crew-2 mission will embark its journey to the ISS. Members of SpaceX Crew – 2

Astronauts Megan McArthur and Shane Kimbrough from NASA, Thomas Pesquet of the European Space Agency and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency’s Akihiko Hoshide constitute the crew for the mission. All the members of SpaceX Crew-2 have previously been to space. They will join seven other astronauts stationed at the International Space Station (ISS).

Megan McArthur

Megan McArthur became an NASA astronaut in the year 2000. She worked as the flight engineer during the launch and landing of the final Hubble Space Telescope servicing mission. She has 13 days of experience in space. She is the pilot for the mission.

Shane Kimbrough

NASA astronaut Shane Kimbrough is the mission commander of the SpaceX Crew-2 mission. He was stationed in space for a total of 189 days. He completed his first space flight in the year 2008, where he did 2 spacewalks.

Thomas Pesquet

Pesquet is a French astronaut, who is the mission specialist among the members of the SpaceX crew 2 mission. He has an experience of 197 days in space. He first went to space in the year 2016.

Akihiko Hoshide

Japanese engineer and JAXA astronaut Akihiko Hoshide is the mission specialist. He is the only third Japanese astronaut to walk in space. He will serve as a Flight Engineer. He is scheduled to become only the second Japanese astronaut to command the station during the mission.
