Swae lee is the professional name of Khalif Malik Ibn Shaman Brown who is a singer, rapper and songwriter. He is one of the upcoming rappers of the english music industry and shows a promising career ahead of him. His brother Slim Jxmmi and Swae together form the hip hop duo called “Rae Sremmund”.
Early life and career
Swae was born in Inglewood, California on 7th June,1993 to a single mother who worked in the army. Shortly after they moved to Tupelo, Mississippi. Intrigued by music in his school days, he and his brother formed a band called “Dem Outta Straight Boyz” with a local rapper, Lil Pants. After finishing high school, both of them were homeless for a period of time.
They used to squat abandoned houses and once the owner of the house found them but later let them stay there for free. They worked in small jobs for some time to support themselves. Swae continued to work hard and never left his passion despite of the tough times.
Path to fame
Swae’s path to fame was not an easy one. His career started early in the year 2008 but it was not until 2017 that he became a well-known rapper. His big break came after he switched to solo singing. He appeared in French Montana’s 2017 single “Unforgettable” which topped multiple chats and even the billboard top 100. Later came another hit Collab with Post Malone “Sunflower” which was his first song to reach 1st spot on billboard top 100.

As of 2021, Swae lee’s estimated net worth is about $10 million. Most of this money was earned by him after sighing with Mike Will Made-It. He bought a house worth $3.5 million in Los Angeles.

Though Swae has released solo albums and other albums together with his brother but his most famous works are definitely his collaborations with other famous artists. He has worked with many artists like Post Malone, Nicki Minaj, French Montana, Drake ,Major Lazer, Madonna, etc.
