In Marvel’s next Spider-Man sequel fans are about to come across ever-popular villains from previous Spider-Man generations. Marvel Studios has guaranteed the comeback, where Actor Jamie Foxx will be starring as Electro and Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus.
Why is Marvel bringing them back?
In Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 3 the studios have confirmed that both the villains from prior creations are going to be a part of the upcoming series. This is going to be the best thing to happen in 2021 after the pandemic in 2020 delayed the production and release schedule.
Molina’s Doctor Octopus is an all-time favorite Villain and that is why Marvel decided to bring him back whereas for Foxx this might be a chance to justify his part. They were both shown to have some kind of connection with the multiverse- As Doctor Octopus attempted to break the space-time in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Electro learned to travel the Multiverse in the form of energy and possibly might have survived their visible deaths.
Who’d be the Better Villain?
In the MCU’s Spider-Man: No way Home, Alfred Molina will make his return as Otto Octavius and Jamie Foxx will come up again as the electrified villain. There would be a few changes in the appearance of both the villains and as it has been 17 years since Doctor Octopus first appeared and he chose to suppress the evil by getting sucked in the reactor whereas Electro chose evil and kept destroying and avenging himself.
There is no assurance that Doctor Octopus might not choose evil as he still has his tentacles that work as manipulators. Jamie Foxx as Electro wants to avenge his transformation and dislike humans for their doings. The movie is full of mysteries and there is much to unfold.
Release Date and More
Spider-Man 3: No Way Home was scheduled to be released on July 16 of this year but due to the global crisis it is delayed to December 17, 2021. There is a possibility that being a multiverse-based movie we might also expect Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield to appear besides Tom Holland but it is not announced yet.
Spider-Man 3 with Tom Holland as Peter Parker would be another megahit film by Marvel. These villains are part of the Sinister Six, and bringing them back seems to have some connection with Sony as it has been longing to show the key villains on screen for a long time.
