2021 will mark Daniel Craig’s fifteenth year as James Bond and the film No Time to Die premiering on 8 October 2021 will be his 5th and last installment in the film series after which a new 007 will be continuing the legacy. Now the question that remains is that, who will be the next James Bond?

James Bond is a British Secret Service agent, first introduced to the world in 1953 by Ian Fleming in the form of a fiction novel character. Later he was adapted into Television, Radio, comics, video game, and Film.

The film adaptation of the character started in 1962 with James Bond Being portrayed by Sean Connery. As years went by, the James Bond film series became sixth-highest grossing in the US and 007 became one of the most iconic secret agent characters to ever exist. 

No Time To Die will be the 25th film in the series with the character of James Bond being portrayed by Daniel Craig. The film was supposed to premiere in 2020 but first was delayed due to the change of producers and later because of the pandemic. However, the movie is now all set to premiere on 8 October 2021. Albeit, Craig has decided that it’s time for him to step down from the 007 legacies but the show must go on.

After giving 15 years to the James Bond legacy, Craig has decided to retire and let the next in line take the lead. Daniel Craig has announced that he will be portraying 007 for fifth and the last time in No Time to Die film which leaves us with the question: Who is the next James Bond?

Till now, Tom Hardy (Venom) was speculated to be the strongest player on the field to continue the legacy of James Bond but his chances seem to be deteriorating ever since Regé-Jean Page portrayed the role of Simon Basset on Bridgerton.   

The announcement about Regé-Jean Page not returning for the second season of Bridgerton is also one of the reasons besides his popularity among fans for his chances to become the next James Bond. Fans want to see him on screen again which is what gave rise to the rumors of him becoming the next James Bond in the first place.

The Witcher aka Henry Cavill is also rumored to be following closely behind Tom Hardy to becoming the next James Bond but only time will tell who gets the role.
