Money Heist Season 5: Miguel Herrán aka Rio is ANGRY at Netflix, ‘They Don’t Know His Name’

With season 5 on the way and season 4 having 65 million views on Netflix, it safe to say that the series has become one of the biggest and most-watched crime series on Netflix. During the shooting of Season 5 of La Casa De Papel aka Money Heist, one of the star cast revealed an embarrassing mistake made by one of the members of the production crew, and here is what happened:

Why was Miguel Herrán aka Rio is ANGRY at Netflix?

Miguel Herrán aka Rio of the famous Spanish crime series Money Heist was furious at the crew when someone misspelled his surname as ‘Herranz’. The actor Miguel Herrán is among the main cast of the series and has been playing the role of Rio for 4 whole seasons. 

Although the actor did not make the mistake that seriously, he did show the middle finger regarding this mistake on his Instagram account saying “4 years working here and they still don’t know my name.”

What is La Casa De Papel aka Money Heist about? 

Money Heist is a Spanish crime and action series in which a guy called ‘The Professor’ comes up with two well-planned heists and makes a team of eight people with different skill sets to help him perform them. Each heist takes up 2 seasons of the series with the second one left at a cliff-hanger at season 4.

The first heist takes place at the Royal Mint of Spain where The Professor and his team of criminals print billions of euros while holding hostages as protection for themselves from the team of detectives and police officers that make their strategies to lure the thieves out.

The second heist takes place at the Bank of Spain with The Professor being the mastermind again while the others follow his orders to help him steal the gold hidden in the water-filled vaults underground. 

The series was originally set to premiere on Spanish television Network Antena 3 in two parts with 15 episodes in total from May 2 to November 23, 2017.

However, it caught the eye of Netflix with its irresistible plotline, which then took the global streaming rights in late 2017 and decided to make 2 seasons out of it with 22 episodes in total. Later, the show was renewed for two more seasons with eight episodes in each season. Season 3 was made available to stream on 29th July 2019 and season 4 on 3rd April 2020. And now the series has gotten a green light for a fifth and last season by Netflix.

Release Date for Season 5 of Money Heist:

With season 4 of Money Heist being such a massive hit on Netflix with over 65 million streams and a cliff-hanger at the end, it is no surprise that fans are dying to find out the release date for Money Heist Season 5. After all, it is going to be the last one ever! 

However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the shooting was delayed which means that the fifth season will get delayed as well. There has been no official announcement for the release date of season 5 but according to some speculations, it may arrive by late 2021 or early 2022. Fingers crossed!
