About High School DxD
High School DxD is based on a Japanese novel of light nature, of the same name. The novel is written by Ichiei Ishibumi and it is illustrated by Miyama-Zero.
The story of High School DxD revolves around how a lost and stupid kind of high school student, Issei Hyodo, who had the ambition to become a Harem King gets killed by a girl on his first-ever date. Hyodo then gets reincarnated by a demon named Rias Gremory, with the sole purpose of including Hyodo into her devilish club. Rias and Issei are in the same high school and she is also the prettiest girl on the entire campus.
The first season of the anime was released back in 2012. Four seasons have come out to date and each of it has been totally loved by the fans. According to reports, the fifth season has been confirmed too.
Will there be a Season 5 to High School DxD?
High School DxD Season 5 was about to premiere in 2020. But unfortunately due to the Covid-19 pandemic, just like many more films, web series, and anime series, this too got postponed.
There is still no confirmation from the makers yet as to when season 5 will be releasing. However, we are expecting season 5 by the fall of 2021. If in case it misses this release date, that is most probably in October, then we have to wait till next year for its release.
High School DxD Season 5 Release Date
So, to be honest the officials of this show still not confirmed any particular date regarding the release of this series. But the most probable theory says it may release on the mid of 2021 or if not then probably the starting of the new year.
Coming to the cast, it is likely that all of them from the previous season will be retained. With the voices of– Yuki Kaji as Issei Hyodo, Ayana Taketaksu as Koneko Toujou, Yoko Hikasa as Rias Gremory, Shizuka Ito as Akeno Himejima and Azumi Asakura as Asia Argento.
The screenplay might also differ a bit, as we have seen that the first season was made in a different studio while the fourth one was made in another studio.
We have seen that season 4 was based on volumes 9 and 10 of the novel. So likewise, season 5 will be based on volumes 11 and 12. That means it will be much more problematic for Issei Hyodo.
What to Expect from Season 5
Season 5 already creates a great hype because of the delay and dilemma of release. Because at first, we came to know that it may release in 2020. But unfortunately, due to COVID 19, it was delayed.
If we talk about the major update of season 5 then probably here we may see a different screenplay as the season 5 shoot in a different studio. Besides this, here we may not see any major change in the characters of the show which is actually a great one. The previous season, season 4 is completely based on the 9 and 10 volume of that particular novel, then probably the next one will be based on 11 and 12 the part of the volume.
