As we all know after the success of Bridgerton Season 1, the show got renewed for season 2. The announcement was made by Netflix on January 21. The release date isn’t out yet. But one thing we can say with confirmation is that Bridgerton Season 2 is already in production.
On March 15, 2021, Luke Newton — who plays the most youthful Bridgerton brother, Colin, within the series — set the Web buzzing when he posted a few behind-the-scenes photographs on his Instagram including him and his costars in the outfit. But with good news comes a bad one too. The Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page) will not be returning for season 2.
The plot of Bridgerton Season 2
Bridgerton season two will chronicle the interest of a suitable marriage for the eldest Bridgerton kin, Anthony ( Jonathan Bailey), as chronicled within the moment book of Quinn’s book series, The Viscount Who Loved Me. On-screen character Simone Ashley will play the female lead. So technically the role of Daphene and Simon was over in the first book and first season itself.
Duke of Hastings might not be Back
Simon Basset, our hero of Bridgerton will not be seen in Season 2. The news is official as it was made on the Bridgerton Twitter page by means of a notice from the show’s storyteller Lady Whistledown (Julie Andrews). To which even Regé-Jean Page replied saying, “Pleasure and a privilege! An honor to be a member of the family – on and off-screen, cast, crew, and incredible fans – the love is real and will just keep growing.”
But this is not the last time we will see our Duke. The actor as of late wrapped shooting on the Russo brothers’ Netflix spy thriller “The Gray Man,” featuring Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans. He is following set to require on the world of “Dungeons & Dragons” with a driving part in a modern film adjustment for Hasbro/eOne and Paramount.
There are even rumors that Page has tied up a contract with Marvel Cinematic Universe for Black Panther 2. Yet, nothing is confirmed. Page no return for Bridgerton Season 2 might imply that his schedule might be free for filming new adventures in Wakanda.
