Korean Dramas are famous for the kind of romance they portray in their dramas. Every drama has a different storyline but has a similarity that’s the love angle they show in their dramas. Romance is their forte but not every person can like watching Rom-com series. So, here are few intense Korean dramas you can watch on Netflix if you don’t like watching many romantic series.

List of Intense and Non-Rom-com Korean Dramas

Stranger: Crime Thriller Korean drama is one of the best non-romantic dramas you can watch. This series has a total of two seasons, the first one released on the 10th of June, 2017 and, the updated second season was released on 15 August 2020. The total number of episodes will be 32.

The first season revolves around Hwang Si-Mok played by Cho Seung-woo playing an executor who has a sensitivity to hearing some frequencies of sounds, when he get it operated he lost his sense of empathy. He meets Police Lieutenant Han Yeo-jin played by Bae Doona who helps him solve the case. While solving a murder mystery they find out that there is a big corruption scheme is going on between the Prosecutors’ Office and a private conglomerate.

 

Stranger, Season 2, In this season, viewers can see a heat between the Prosecutors’ Office and the National Police Agency, as Prosecutors’ Office wants the power over the investigations whereas N.P.A wants autonomous authorities. Between this chaos, Hwang Si-Mok and Han Yeo-jin collaborate to solve an unopened case.

White Christmas: This Korean Drama series contains 8 episodes. This series contains some serious murders and suicide. The school follows strict rules and punishments and cut off students from the outer world and its activities. For the Christmas break or winter break, seven students and a teacher stay back at school. A psychiatrist also joins them as he met with a car accident and didn’t have anywhere to go. The drama depicts the 8 days of stay of the above mentioned from Christmas to New year’s Eve. What happens during those 8 days, will be known once you see the drama.

Three Intense Korean Dramas to Watch

Liar Game: This Korean Drama is based on Japanese manga and consists of a total of 8 episodes. This drama is portraying a story of an innocent school girl who clears a hidden camera audition. In order to pay her debt, she takes the part in the competition. The competition is a psychological trick game where there is a number of participants, they have to trick each other and the one who survives till the end wins the money prize of ₩10 billion (US$9.3 million). She asks a psychological teacher and ex-con swindler to help her win the game.
