The Hitman’s Bodyguard was one of the biggest blockbusters of 2017, with a whopping business of $176 million worldwide. This massive success made the makers announce the sequel of the movie within a year. The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard was originally slated to see its release on August 28, 2020, but the global Covid-19 pandemic made the makers push the release date to August 20, 2021, almost a year later. However, the film’s new release date moves the film up two months.
The preponed release of the sequel comes with good news for the theater business. As for the first time in a while, it seems like the theater is going to witness the old, happy business. With many movies seeing their release on the streaming platform, The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard will see its debut in what looks to be a packed theatrical premiere.
Instead of August 20, 2021, now The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard will see its release on June 16, 2021.
