Game of Thrones, the famous HBO webseries is now heading towards Broadway for state play. Here’s the all the latest updates you need to know.

Game of Thrones, is an American fictional drama. It is based on the series of novel ‘A song of Ice and Fire’ written by George R. R. Martin. The series was created and directed by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss.
The shooting locations used in the webseries are– United Kingdom, Canada, Croatia, Iceland, Malta, Morocco, and Spain.
Game of Thrones premiered on HBO on April 17, 2011. It continued for 9 years. The last episode was aired on May 19, 2019. The series was divided into 8 seasons with a total of 73 episodes.
The story of Game of Thrones revolves around the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros and the continent of Essos. It is basically a fight for the ‘Iron Throne’, a war of succession between nine noble families. The plot is set in Medieval Europe on mythical continent. The story is divided in 3 different places– The Seven Kingdoms, The Wall, and In The East.
The star cast of the series is pretty long. However, to mention some of the lead, they are– Kit Harrington, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner, Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Emilia Clarke, Iain Glen, Alfie Allen.
The webseries has won plenty of awards, to name some– Primetime Emmy Awards, BAFTA Awards, MTV Movie & TV Awards, Critics Choice Television Awards, Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and so on.
Game of Thrones– Stage Play
Game of Thrones is planning to make acclaimed series into a stage play. All set to head towards Broadway.
The Hollywood Reporter unveiled that the author, George R. R. Martin is planning to introduce it in the Broadway. A big news for all the GOT fans as it will bring back some of the iconic characters to life like Ned Stark and Jaime Lannister.
Simon Painter and Tim Lawson (The Illusionists) are producers along with Kilburn Live. George Martin himself will curate the story along with Duncan MacMillan and Dominic Cooke.
The will not be exactly as that of Game of Thrones, it may include some of the back stories as well. It will be sort of a prequel.
The official description of the play says, “The play will for the first time take audiences deeper behind the scenes of a landmark event that previously was shrouded in mystery. Featuring many of the most iconic and well-known characters from the series, the production will boast a story centered around love, vengeance, madness and the dangers of dealing in prophecy, in the process revealing secrets and lies that have only been hinted at until now.”
It is expected to make it to the theatres by 2023. Debut productions will be in New York City, London’s West End and Australia.
