The Suicide Squad’s first trailer has arrived, and it features a slew of familiar faces making their DC Comics debut. Pete Davidson of Saturday Night Live is one such performer. On August 6, 2021, The Suicide Squad will be released in theaters and on HBO Max.
Who is Blackguard aka Pete Davidson’s Character in the Suicide Squad film?
BlackGuard is a DC character from the 1980s who wears black leather and has guns strapped to his chest.
BlackGuard, also known as Dick Hertz in the comics, is a professional warrior trained by The 1,000. BlackGuard was electrocuted after losing a battle to Booster Gold and developed energy manipulation abilities as a result.
It’s uncertain if BlackGuard will have the same electricity powers in the upcoming Suicide Squad film, but based on his popularity in the trailers, he appears to be a major character in the plot.
What can we Expect to see in The Suicide Squad film?
The Suicide Squad is a sequel to the 2016 film Suicide Squad, which introduced Margot Robbie’s fantastic version of legendary villain Harley Quinn to the world. Last time, Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), an intelligence officer, formed a task force of supervillains and criminals to assist in the world’s redemption. Jared Leto played The Joker, and Cara Delevingne and Will Smith both played members of the team.
The recent “standalone” sequel, which is based on the DC Comics supervillain squad, has a similar concept, with Amanda gathering a motley crew once more. And, as she mentions in the new trailer, if they don’t follow her instructions, she’ll detonate the bombs she’s planted in their necks.
This film, however, has a decidedly sillier tone than the first, as well as a slew of new pseudo-superheroes to meet as they attempt to destroy a prison and laboratory where sinister experiments are taking place.

Viola Davis reprised her role as government agent Amanda Waller, while Rick Flag was played by Joel Kinnaman, and Captain Boomerang will be played by Jai Courtney.
Pete Davidson, who plays Blackguard is one of the newest cast members. Idris Elba and John Cena also joined the cast as Bloodsport and Peace-Maker, respectively.
Polka-Dot Man is played by David Dastmalchian, Sul Soria is played by Alice Braga, Ratcatcher2 is played by Daniela Melchior, T.D.K. is played by Nathan Fillion, Mongal is played by Mayling Ng, Savant is played by Michael Rooker, and Thinker is played by Peter Capaldi.
One of the most surprising developments in the trailer is that King Shark will be voiced by Sylvester Stallone. At the end of the trailer, there’s also a giant, colourful starfish kaiju that goes on a rampage.
