Helen Mirren set to feature in ‘Shazam:

Helen Mirren is all set to play the role of one of the evilest villains of history in the Shazam sequel, titled Shazam: Fury of the God. As per the report by Deadline, Helen Mirren is going to play the role of villainous Hespera, daughter of Atlas, in the upcoming sequel starring Zachary Levi.

As far as the theories say, there is no obvious comics counterpart of Hespera in the DC Universe, but according to the recent updates and her description we can say that she has some roots connected to the powers of the stronger and darker alter ego of Shazam- which consists the wisdom of Solomon, stamina of Hespera’s father Atlas, Strength of Hercules, supernatural power of Jesus, speed like Mercury and the courage of Achilles.

Earlier it was revealed that Levi has locked the deal to reprise his role for the sequel alongside Rachel Zegler, whose casting came into light in early February but the role she is going to portray is still under the wrap. Other than Levi and Rachel, Adam Brody, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Faithe Herman are in the cast of the sequel helmed by David F. Sandberg and penned by Henry Gayden.

Shazam: Fury of the God is one of those DC movies which have been delayed due to various reasons. Other than the sequel DC has also recently delayed the release of Robert Pattinson’s The Batman and Grant Gustin’s The Flash. But undoubtedly the franchise has done an excellent job in selecting the cast, they have arguably cornered the business by casting legends like Mirren and her fellow Julie Andrews, who was last seen playing the role of gigantic ancient sea creature in 2018’s The Aquaman.
