East High Wildcats, it’s back to school time! On May14, Disney+ will premiere the second season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.
Tim Federle produced the American mocking tart musical drama streaming television series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series for Disney+, based on the High School Musical film series. The series follows a group of teenage theatre enthusiasts who take part in a school production of High School Musical: The Musical, which is set at a fictionalized version of East High School, the place where the original movie series were filmed.
What Can Happen in Season 2 of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series?
The news was announced during the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour on Wednesday (Feb. 24). This time, the East High Wildcats will compete in a cutthroat student theatre rivalry against their North High rivals as they prepare for their spring musical Beauty and the Beast. We’ll also learn whether Nini accepts her bid, whether she tells Ricky, and how this will affect their long-term relationship.
We think that now that we know how good Kourtney’s singing voice is, she will audition for the musical. We’ll also see more of Carlos and Seb, as well as the development of Big Red and Ashlyn’s relationship now that they’ve kissed. Plus, we’re excited to see what E.J. and Gina have planned for the future.
The stars of the show have also shared a lot about what viewers should hope to see in season 2. The HSMTMTS cast exclusively told J-14, “The kids of East High Drama Club put on Beauty and the Beast… and it’s gonna be sweet,” adding that it will be “bigger” than season 1. “There’s more action, plotlines, and music in this one.” Billboard exclusively revealed earlier this month that HSMTMTS has added Broadway vet Andrew Barth Feldman and television/film star Asher Angel to the season two cast.
