The much loved franchise cricket tournament, Indian Premier League, is all set to commence from 9 April. Here’s all you need to know about IPL 2021.

IPL 2021 will commence on 9 April. The schedule was announced on Sunday. The matches will be held across 6 venues. Regarding the allowance of spectators, the decision has yet not been finalized. Board (BCCI) will decide it during the course of the Tournament.

IPL 2021 begins from April 9

IPL returns to its native land, it will be played from 9 April to May 30. It was also announced that Mohali, Jaipur and Hyderabad will host no matches this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. There will be a total of 56 matches out of which Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata will host 10 matches each. Whereas Ahmedabad and Delhi will host 8 matches. Final will be played in Narendra Modi Stadium, in Ahmedabad.

BCCI board secretary Jay Shah has said, “The fixtures of the tournament have been mapped in a way that every team will travel only three times during the league stage thus reducing commute and minimizing risk(sic).”

Indian Premier League, as it returns to India, the love for cricket also returns. IPL is much more like a festival to all the Indians. People belonging from different cities coming up to the stadium to support their favorite teams. Different cities get decked up according to the jersey colors.

Wars between the teams and their supporters is surely something to watch out for. With all the weekends getting sorted with 2 matches of IPL, we hope that this year, the IPL will be even more fun and interesting to watch bringing us on the edge of our seats in the death overs.

Fixture

Here’s the list of matches that will be played in IPL 2021. First match will be played between Mumbai Indians vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai on April 9.
