Mike Flanagan has again amazed the audience with his outstanding work in The Haunting of Bly Manor. The show was aired on October 9, 2020. It was a second entry to the follow-up series of The Haunting Anthology. but the two series’ narratives are not connected.
Mike’s previous series ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ was received positively by the critics and reviewers. Although Bly Manor had some mixed reactions for its plotline and characters. The show features much of Hill House’s crew and some of the same cast.
The story begins when an Au Pair/Governess(Dani) is hired to look after Henry’s niece and nephew at the family country house. There she starts to observe that there is something wrong with the kids.
Now let’s look back to some of the hidden ghosts of the Bly Manor one might have missed.
List Of Hidden Ghosts
1. Vicar or Doctor?
The first sighting we see is when Flora is climbing the stairs, one will see a dark apparition at the corner of the stairs standing quietly which is not clearly visible. You will find out further in the story. This is observed in Episode 1 ‘The Great Good Place’ when Flora is giving Dani a tour of the house.
2. First Glimpse Of The Boy
As we move further onto Episode 2 ‘The Pupil’ we see a ghost when Dani goes down in the basement to look for Flora’s talisman. The ghost of a boy is seen turning his head in the pile of dolls when Dani leaves the basement. Moving further into the story, one will find a backstory of this boy.
3. Faceless Boy Again
In Episode 3 ‘The Two Faces, Part One’ Flanagan has done an amazing job with his cinematography. Adding a new ghost to the gang, the doll has been seen several times during the show. Although the duration is for milliseconds. So the audience has to keep their eyes stuck to the screen to observe this particular ghost. The doll face or no face ghost is seen lurking in the hall when Dani is passing through her. Looks like she is a teaser.
4. Muddy Feet Lady
In Episode 4 ‘The Way It Came’, the viewers are given a glimpse of Viola – a.k.a. the Woman in the Lake – as she slowly passes by within the background. Miles and Flora endeavor to occupy an inebriated Dani from meandering into the hall. She does not see “The Lady” as Flora calls her. It was a very evident scene for the audience though.
