American Politician Deb Haaland is presently serving as the US Representative for New Mexico’s 1st congressional district since the year 2019, Senate and she is also the confirmed Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior.

From the year 2015 till 2017 she was the chair of the Democratic Party of New Mexico. Her ruling district includes Albuquerque and its suburbs. Deb is a progressive politician who supports The Green New Deal and Medicare for Everybody.

The Senate officially confirmed on Monday and voted Deb Haaland for the position of American President Joe Biden’s Interior Secretary, which is a history in making as she became the first Native American Cabinet Secretary.

The number of votes was 51 to 40. Deb will now be a part of Joe Biden’s political strategy to deal with the issues of climate and reduction in Carbon Emissions. Four Republicans who voted for her and supported Democrats were Sens Lindsey, Graham from SouthCarolina, Susan Collins from Maine, Dan Sullivan, and Lisa Murkowski from Alaska.

Deb is a member of the Laguna Pueblo. It is one of the 574 sovereign tribal nations across 35 states. Haaland will be leading 70,000 staff, she will overlook one-fifth of the US and 1.7bn acres of coastlines, overseeing and managing national parks, wildlife refuges, natural resources which are gas, oil, and water.

Haaland’s political appointment was lead by a petition which was signed by 120 tribal representatives, which lead to the creation of political history by Biden.

Deb financed a Bill that would set a national goal for protecting 30% of the US Lands and Oceans by the Year 2030. The 60-year old who belongs from the region of New Mexico shall be responsible for the nation’s land, seas, natural resources, and overlooking the tribal affairs.
