While there are libraries full of different genres of K-Dramas from past years that absolutely deserve your attention. This year’s newness has brought some really good new options that can become a part of your list. From silly romantic comedies to those that explore psychological trauma—you’ll definitely find something of yours liking. Here are some of the best Korean dramas to watch in 2021.
Start-Up
It shows an interesting story about Seo Dal-mi (Bae Suzy), who dreams of becoming the next Steve Jobs. She wants to take Sandbox (a fictional Silicon Valley of South Korea) by storm. And become a CEO, and she believes that she can do it with her efforts. And her childhood sweetheart Nam Do-san (Nam Joo-hyuk), the founder of Samson Tech. But then she discovers that he hasn’t been the man she’s been exchanging letters with all along!
Record of Youth
Sa Hye-jun (Park Bo-gum) is a popular part-time model who wants to become an actor but is struggling to do so. Meanwhile, a fangirl An Jeong-ha (Park So-dam) dreams of becoming a makeup artist. Record of Youth shows the two meeting each other in this money-minded world and they eventually start rooting for each other.
Tale of the Nine-Tailed
Lee Yeon (Lee Dong-Wook) is a gumiho (nine-tailed fox) who sacrificed his life as a mountain god to protect the woman he loved. Now he lives among humans and waits for her reincarnation so that he can protect her. He then meets Nam Ji-ah (Jo Bo-ah), a producer who seeks out supernatural stories. She sees the man who saved her when she was a child in CCTV footage, and he looked exactly like Lee Yeon.
It’s okay to not be okay
Moon Gang-tae (Kim Soo-Hyun) works as a health worker at a psychiatric ward and has no time to find love. But one day he gets to meet the children’s book author Ko Moon-young (Seo Ye-Ji), who has an antisocial personality disorder. Soon, the two start to heal each other’s dark pasts and work through their trauma together.
Memorist
Dong Baek (Yoo Seung-ho) is a detective with his unique ability to any person’s memories upon touching them. This skill helps him to find a serial killer, But as they chase down the killer. They get in the spiral thinking about their own troubled pasts. And figuring out the answers to the string of killings becomes even more complicated!
