Nintendo Co. the gaming community has been constantly working and upgrading the Switch. Previously launched Switch Lite whose screen was 5.5-inch 720p LCD and almost similar is the current Switch which has a 6.2-inch 720p LCD panel. The developers decided to up their game.
It is speculated that the Nintendo Switch screen is bigger than the upcoming Samsung OLED display screen. There has not been any official date of the launch of the Nintendo Switch. Although President Shuntaro Furukawa has hinted that it will launch this year saying “anytime soon.”
Why OLED Panel for New Switch?
According to Bloomberg, the company has decided to opt for OLED Panel because, “The OLED panel will consume less battery, offer higher contrast and possibly faster response time when compared to the Switch’s current liquid-crystal display,” said Yoshio Tamura, co-founder of display consultancy DSCC.
The Nintendo Switch will have 4K graphics provided by the Samsung Display and will go into mass production this June. It is also cheaper though less flexible. The new model could also be paired with a TV. Advantages of OLED incorporate advertising higher contrast and expending less battery, with the plausibility that it’ll have a speedier revive rate than the Switch’s standard 60Hz.
