Manga artist Kamentotsu from Tokyo had not anticipated while he was uploading a four-panel strip about an anthropomorphic bear. He runs a cake shop from his Twitter account which was three years ago.

In Japan, people of both genders and all age groups read the manga. But Mangas can be found easily in bookstores, bookstands, and convenience stores all over the country. And there is a huge demand for the domestic industry for the manga in their home country and also internationally.
Who is Kamentotsu?
Manga artist Kamentotsu worked in many fields before starting out as a manga artist when he was only 27. But, he was good at his work and the series he used to upload as a manga artist was often talk in Tokyo. Even though he hustled a lot as a Manga artist.
Perceptions about him changed after his piece Koguma’s Cake Shop (koguma means“bear cub” in Japanese. And he uploaded his work on Twitter which became a hit in 2017. Kamentotsu continues to experiment with ways to draw as he publishes his pieces for free on the Internet and not for any publications.
How did Kamentotsu ‘s work become viral on Social Media?
“Koguma’s Cake Shop” gained tens of thousands of likes. So, within a week, 40 companies approached him with lucrative offers. Kamentotsu said that Publishing company editors have gone from bringing up manga artists. Like they are farming, to hunting for them.
Companies hunt talent online, publishers have increased due to the rise of the internet.
Social media can see an artist’s audience potential and reach out in the open. Japan’s aspiring manga artists work for a low hike. Going viral is a life-changing moment for them.
Kamentotsu now goes by his pen name and wears a mask in media appearances to keep a mysterious look. And the bear who wears a chef’s hat has become a popular soft toy. And his image is used to promote frozen dumplings in the country.
