Yes, you read it write. Add Mr. Big (Chris Noth) after Samantha (Kim Cattrall) to the list of iconic characters who are not returning for the ‘Sex and The City’ revival.
Based on Candace Bushnell’s best-selling novel, Sex and the City initially ran from 1998-2004 on HBO. Taking after the lives of four female companions in New York City, it won numerous awards, counting many Emmys and Golden Globes. Sex and the City too produced two motion pictures, in 2008 and 2010, as well as a prequel series.
Why Chris Noth does not want to come back?
John James “Mr. Big” Preston may be a repeating character within the HBO series Sex and the City, depicted by Chris Noth but not a boring character. He is the essential on-and-off love interest of the series’ main lead, Carrie Bradshaw, who ordinarily alludes to him as “Mr. Big”. “Mr. Big” showed up in Comcast’s list of TV’s Most Charming Characters.
In an interview, Noth admitted that he “hated” the end of the first movie (2008). So its really not a surprise that Noth seemed to be over the ‘Sex and The City’ revival also know as “Just like That….”
Maybe the movie writers have something else in mind to make the storyline better for Carrie and the audience as well. All we can do is wait to find out.
Characters not joining the ‘Just Like That…’ cast
So its official that Mr.Big, Samantha Jones won’t be coming back for that revival. Many fans expressed their disappointment with the news. Now the reports say David Eigenberg who played Miranda’s husband (Steve Brady) has not signed on to the new series either. So half the cast is cancelled, why bother on making this revival?
But the news on David Eigenberg has not been official yet. Let’s hope there is some good news for the fans in later time.
