Call of Duty fans are eagerly waiting for Season 2 to arrive. The second season for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone is coming on February 25. Just some time before, the official website and the app leaked a news regarding the Zombies mode in Black Ops Cold War. The news was pulled off later but now they have officially confirmed this.
The new mode talks about a massive scale zombie attack. While the second season has a lot of new things already, an update on the Zombies mode just makes it even better. Both Activision and Treyarch Studios shared a sneak peek, with a lot more information to share in the days before the launch.
The Setting of The Outbreak Mode
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War introduced a story called Dark Aether, an extension of the Aether story in Black Ops 4. The new mode, called the ‘Outbreak’ continues the Dark Aether storyline in the Ural Mountains. There is a whole range of missions that players will have to undergo, like using a satellite tracker to take down enemies.
Also, you will be escorting a Rover which can detect portals and even hold off zombies in a closed area. If this feels less, you will also have one option to exfil the map after completing the necessary missions. You will be facing a stronger zombie wave with a faster spawn before you finally escape. The other option is to enter the Dark Aether portal which means more challenges and bigger rewards.
What Else is Arriving?
The Outbreak mode will also have a ‘Zombie Outbreak Challenge Event’ which will launch with the season. It will run from February 25 to March 11. The second season is also bringing four new operators – Naga, Maxis, Wolf, and Rivas. Among weapons, you get a FARA 83 assault rifle and the LC10 SMG at the launch week, with four more weapons coming soon. You will be able to use these weapons in Warzone as well.
The new mode also includes a field upgrade ‘Frenzied Guard’ and an ammo mod ‘Shatter Blast’. Two new skill tiers will also arrive which you can unlock using the Refined and Flawless Aetherium Crystals. This will allow you to upgrade your skills to tier IV and V.

For the Outbreak Mode, both Activision and Treyarch have said that they will release more details in future. Season 2 arrives next week on February 25. An update will be available for Black Ops Cold War on February 23 between 9-11pm PT. For Warzone, the update will be available on February 24.
