Demon Slayer Season 2 Release Date Confirmed 2021: Everything We Know About

When it comes to shonen anime, we expect some action-packed stuff with intricate storylines. But when you add a touch of noir to it, it kind of immerses you into the story. Killing bad guys or demons sounds a bit common, it is the story and the presentation that makes the difference. Things could not get more exciting for the fans of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. As we are awaiting for Demon Slayer Season 2 to arrive, the team has officially announced a second season. Moreover, it will be out this year. So if you felt some emptiness after watching the last season, this year will show you at least two story arcs.

Demon Slayer Season 2 Release Date Announcement

Kimetsu no Yaiba is a manga series written by Koyoharu Gotouge. Since 2016, the chapters were arriving in the Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. The series finally published its last chapter in May 2020, and all chapters are now collected in 23 volumes. It is said to be one of the bestsellers, selling 150 million copies until now.

Ufotable Studio adapted the manga for a 24-episode anime in 2019. Like the manga, the anime topped the charts, with critics commending the action sequences and animation. Polygon and Crunchyroll have called it “one of the best anime of the 2010s”.

The story is about Tanjiro Kamado, a boy living in the mountains who earns his living selling charcoal and supports his family. One day, on returning, he finds his entire family dead, with his sister Nezuko still breathing. Nezuko transforms into a demon and attacks Tanjiro, but relents midway, showing signs of humanity.

At this point, he protects his sister from a demon slayer, Giyu Tomioka. Convinced that Nezuko is different from other demons, he recruits Tanjiro under the tutelage of another slayer Sakonji Urokodaki who teaches him his ‘breathing style’ and becomes a demon slayer. Thus begins Tanjiro’s quest of helping his sister become human again and avenge his family.

What Happened in The Last Episode?

The finale of the first season showed a furious Muzan Kibutsuji killing his own subordinates, the Lower Twelve Demon Moons. However, in Lower Rank One, Enmu manages to appease him enough to get spared and even receive some blood. Meanwhile, Tanjiro, along with Inosuke and Zenitsu has now fully recovered and embarked on a new mission.

As per the mission, they have to board a train and meet the Flame Pillar Kyojuro Rengoku. Tanjiro gives a last piece of advice to Kanao before leaving the Butterfly Estate. They finally reach the last car and prepare themselves for what awaits.
