GTA 6 Vice City is All But Confirmed: Release Date, Major Leak, Map & More

GTA series has been a fan favorite since its introduction on the PlayStation console. Every installment whether canon or spin-off like GTA: Vice City or GTA: San Andreas excels with the detailed map, missions, storylines, characters, arsenal, and much more. A sixth canon game is somewhat a no-brainer, especially for Rockstar Games.

Grand Theft Auto V originally released in 2013 and is still currently the latest installment in the series. With GTA Online, both old and new players have found something new in the series to play with. But it cannot deny that it has been a long time we saw a new game. While we still do not know when it will be out, let’s have a look at the things we have heard for now.

Speculated Characters and Name

GTA: V introduced us to three playable characters for the first time. As the game progresses, the stories intertwine which makes it even better. According to Tom Henderson, who is famous for his Call of Duty leaks, the game will have a male and a female lead character. Like the earlier game, the stories would connect.

A former employee told The Sun, that the map would be similar to that of San Andreas. He also told that The characters will be Walther Wallace, a driver; Thomas Branigan, a smuggler with a plane called “The Raven”; and Marcus Burke, a drug dealer. The game can also have cameo appearances like Keanu Reeves in Cyberpunk 2077.

Giancarlo Esposito, in an interview with Collider, mentioned working in a game that would be huge. Given his role in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, he could be voicing the main antagonist. About the official name of the game, it has been rumored to be Grand Theft Auto VI(CE) City. Even as a working title, it looks a little fancy.

What Could The Map Include?

According to the rumors, the map will include Vice City. It is likely that Liberty City and San Andreas/Los Santos will be a part as well. The story of the GTA series has been around these places. With the fourth game centering on Liberty, fifth on San Andreas, Vice City is quite likely for the sixth one. Plus the rumored name makes it more convincing.

The map is said to be as big as that of the fifth game plus Red Dead Redemption 2. This can mean that either the map will be more detailed, or even likelier that there will be more locations. Another rumor says that the new game wants to introduce London again. London was the part of the original game and the game also had a female character. With quite a number of events recently happened over there, like Brexit, London is a great idea.

Potential Release Date and Platforms

As of now, since there is no news regarding the release date, but the game surely seems to be in development. Interestingly, GTA Online introduced a new vehicle VETIR with a promo image. If you split the ‘Jenga block letters’ the thing looks like a date VI: 7 11. Seems like a first teaser date – July 11 or November 7.

Rockstar Games is planning a re-release of the fifth game this year for PS5. It is rumored that they are also bringing remastered GTA3, Vice City, and San Andreas as well. This would allow them more time for developing the sixth game and avoiding dead air. In addition to this, GTA online would be more than enough.

According to Venture Beat, Take-Two Interactive, the parent company to Rockstar has planned a marketing budget of $89 million for 2023/2024. This gives a slight indication that the game will be out at this point. Unfortunately, it also means that it will be exclusive to PS5 and Xbox Series3 consoles, because by that time, PS4 and Xbox one will be a decade old.
