Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner had been dating each other for three years, getting engaged in 2017. They finally tied the knot in May 2019. In July 2020, the couple welcomed their first baby, a daughter. During the time they were expecting, both Joe and Sophie kept things as low as possible. Obviously it became clear on its own afterwards.
Now that there are rumours that the couple is planning a second child just months after the birth of their daughter, let’s see how things went when the couple was expecting their first child.
The Initial Reports
E! News and Us Weekly first reported in February about Turner’s pregnancy. As per reports, both Jonas and Turner tole their families and all of them were very excited about it. Later, Us Weekly reported that the baby will be due mid-summer.
Neither of the two commented officially, but in February and after that, Sophie could be seen wearing jacket or overalls. This hinted that she was trying to hide the baby bump. Sophie and Joe were later spotted at a clothes store, buying clothes for a child. Speculations were that the couple was expecting a boy.
The Due Date
In June and July 2020, the bump was very visible. Sophie was now being spotted in loose dresses and maternity clothes. As per Entertainment Tonight, she was excited to become a mother. They were taking walks to stay physically active and went to have a family meal as well.
Turner also admitted to enjoying the lockdown, being a homely person. She also added that Joe did feel imprisoned. In the last week of July, the couple finally welcomed the baby girl. As per Us, the couple had decided to name their daughter Willa before her birth.
Are They Expecting a Second Child?
About four months after the birth of their daughter, Us Weekly reported in November 2020 that they were planning for a second child. As per the sources, they are looking forward to expanding their family. Willa’s birth has brought them closer and they want to have a large family.
However, just like the first pregnancy, it is unlikely that either Joe or Sophie would comment. But as Joe’s brother Nick told Entertainment Tonight after he met his newborn niece, it is up to them to speak about it or not.
